Laurus Ryecroft School - Droylsden

278 highway works for the entrance to a new build £24million high school, due to bad ground the entrance was taken down 2m deep and re constructed in 200mm layers of compacted 6f2 to form a base for the carriageway, cbr tests were carried out at capping level to ensure the road was up to strength and compacted properly, 550mm of type 1 mot was added to bring the road to its final sub base level ready for tarmac, tarmac was then added to form a running lane for site traffic this will be topped off once the school is built and finished. A temporary re-inforced slab was cast over the gas main to protect it until cadent gas can come to lower it to its correct new level.

Neville Road Junior School - Bramhall

This project was to provide the junior school with a new playground including a new drainage system complete with climbing frame and muga pitch. The enabling works for this project firstly saw us to remove the existing roundabout from the front of the school to enable the muck away wagons to gain access, the whole playground was broken up using hydraulic breaker attachments and loaded into wagons, the playground was then dug out to clay level to provide a suitable base to start the reconstruction, this hadn't been done previously by a contractor cutting corners which then led to cracking and the playground failing. Once the bulk excavation was complete the new drainage system was installed along with additional gulley's and channel kerbs, this was then followed by 1000,s tons of mot type 1 being imported and graded and rolled ready for tarmac, once tarmac had been completed the new climbing frame and muga pitch was installed much to the joy of the students who are now enjoying their new facility.

Station Road -  Cheadle

278 highway works on station road in Cheadle outside the train station, firstly we worked alongside chris wright road planning as they planed out for the new kerblines, the road was narrowed to allow safer wider footpaths outside the station, the drainage had to be moved out to the new line of the kerbs, this entailed breaking out the old kerblines / gulley pots and installing new ones whilst tapping into the original connections to the main drain, bollards and railings were removed from the original footpath and the old paving was dug up and discarded of to make way for the new paths to be installed, once the new pavement was laid all the traffic management was switch over to the opposite site and the process repeated.

A34 - Cheadle Bypass

278 highway works on the a34 Cheadle bypass, due to the new build site at Barnes village being under construction and with the main entrance to the estate connecting directly to the a34 Stockport council decided it best to install a new footpath towards Cheadle whilst also including a bus stop for the hundreds of people living on the estate to get to and from the new estate safely. This also will reduce the amount of traffic leaving and entering the estate providing the residents with another form of transport. The embankment was stripped of its trees and graded steeper to allow the construction of the path at the top, soil netting was used to prevent landslip and a land drain installed at the bottom to keep the new gardens free from water, the new footpath was kerbed and tarmacked and the new bus layby was concreted and the shelter installed.

Northwich Crematorium

We undertook works at the crematorium to install the new overflow carpark, firstly the original construction of stone and bricks was removed back to good ground and taken away with the grab wagon, we installed 4 gulley pots and a manhole into the carpark to take away the rain water, once surfaced the water would have nowhere to go as previously the water would just soak into the stone so drainage was necessary, the manhole was then tapped into the existing drainage system through the embankment and the grass put back to original, mot type 1 was imported and graded to specified levels and the carpark was then tarmaced and lined.

total polyfilm.png
Total Polyfilm - Preston

12 months defect works on a concrete slab at total polyfilm preston, the affected area was cut out using a floor saw with water suppresion, the area was then broken out and taken away by our grab wagon ready for the new slab to be poured.

Barnes Hospital -Cheadle

278 highway works on the former Barnes Mental Hospital at Cheadle, due to the existing grade a listed hospital being renovated and additional housing added a new wider more substantial entrance was required, the entrance was widened and made into in and out lanes which was previously a single track, drainage was installed and ducting to carry new street lighting and virgin media to the estate was also installed, the gas main which was previously in the grass was lowered and protected with concrete along with the high voltage cables which were unearthed during excavation. The new entrance was re kerbed and tarmacked.

A6 Stockport Road - Stockport

278 highway works for the install of the new traffic islands on the a6 which form part of the new junction of the link road from Travis brow up to the A6 Stockport Road. The tarmac was cut using a floor saw with water dust suppression, it was then broke out and discarded using the dumper and the grab wagon, a road crossing was performed from the island to the footpath to install ducting to illuminate the pelican crossings and guardian angels. New kerbs were installed along with tactiles and nal sockets for the pelican, the island was finished off with tarmac.

Chalk and Steel gym - Lowton

As part of the renovation of the old car sales pitch in lowton which has been changed into a local community gym, they had to provide a council approved 1 way system which included a carpark to provide off road parking for gym goers, this was achieved successfully by meetings with us and the clients to discuss the best way possible to maximise off road parking, we dug off all the disused land behind the car sales pitch, installed concrete edgings and drains and graded off type 1 mot ready for tarmac, im pleased to annouce the gym is now up and running, why not give it a try and check out our carpark.

Rylands Footpath - Warrington

This project started as a blank field, the need for the footpath was realised as residents of the near by area were walking across the field from the clubhouse to get to the subway tunnel that leads onto the local estates, this was turning the field into a muddy mess, the soil was excavated down to a suitable subbase level and concrete edgings were installed, type 1 mot was then brought onto the path via dumpers and graded ready for the tarmac to be laid by the next contractor.

Kings School - Macclesfield

Kings school is a new development in the heart of Macclesfield, this is a multimillion pound project to provide the most up to date teaching facility in the area, the school needed to provide safe access for the children to gain access to the new school, the grass verge was dug out and concrete edged and then type 1 mot was graded ready for the tarmac surfacing, in adddition to this the verge was regraded to encorperate the new height of the footpath and to eliminate trip hazards.

Bolton Steel Structures - Lowton

Bolton steel structures were struggling wading through mud and slurry everyday trying to complete big steel orders, the forklifts would get bogged down and stuck and the steel was getting contaminated with mud making getting the steel galvanised extra costly because they had to pay for the steel cleaning aswell. Earthworks came to the rescue and trasnformed their old muddy yard into a beautiful concrete hardstanding complete with aco channel drains and manholes to provide a clean useable yard for years to come.
